Tok player's 74 points not enough for victory

A basketball player from Tok had a night for the high school record books Friday.

Skylar Webb registered what is believed to be an Alaska individual scoring record when he poured in 74 points against the FH Collins Warriors of Whitehorse, Yukon.

The previous Alaska high school high is believed to be 62 points by Mike Cronk, who played at nearby Northway in 1986.

Webb's 74 points were not enough to prevent Tok from falling 83-82 in overtime to the Whitehorse team.

Webb hit four 3-pointers, 20 2-point field goals and 22 of 24 free throws.

He scored 15 points in overtime.

FH Collins' Ton Nguyen had a fine night of his own with 39 points.
