Regular season wraps up for Anchorage high school riflery teams

Abigail Foger of Eagle River and Kylee Wagendorf of South were in good form Friday on the final night of regular-season riflery competition in the Cook Inlet Conference.

Foger had the night’s best score with a 296 for Eagle River, and Wagendorf led the Wolverines with a 293.

The season wraps up Wednesday and Thursday with the CIC championships, which will be conducted virtually with each team shooting at its own range.

Hailey Hodgins of the West Eagles posted a one-point win over East’s Colin Ede to take match-high shooting honors Friday in a Cook Inlet Conference riflery meet.

Hodgins fired a score of 285 to edge Ede, who had the night’s best scores in standing (94) and kneeling (96) competition. East’s Eva Easton turned in the highest prone-position score with a 99.

The Eagles won the match, 7-0.

Dimond’s William Chisham shot a perfect score of 100 in the prone position to claim match-high honors in his team’s 7-0 win over Chugiak.

Chisham finished with a score of 283 to edge teammate Esther Cho by three points. Hayden Johnson led Chugiak with a 271.
