Ellie Decker won two events and the all-around title for the South Wolverines and Tatym Doucet won two events for the Dimond Lynx at the Cook Inlet Conference championships Saturday at Dimond High.
Doucet led the Lynx to the team title with 207.175 points. South placed second (199.05 points) and West was third (177.8). No other schools fielded full teams.
Decker and Brieley Alch gave the Wolverines a 1-2 finish in the all-around. Decker, who won the balance beam and uneven parallel bars, triumphed with 34.95 points. Arch was next with 33.725.
Doucet won titles in floor exercise and vault, posting the meet’s highest score to take the floor victory with 9.4 points.
Alch placed second in vault and bars, while Idalis Williams of East and Quincy Carpenter of Eagle River grabbed runner-up finishes in floor and balance beam, respectively.
The meet was the final competition in a season shortened by the COVID-19 pandemic. All of the CIC teams and gymnasts made it through the season without any cancellations or shutdowns due to the virus.
