Watch: Opera flash mob delights Clark Middle School students

George Yang, Judy Berry, Kyle Gantz and Juliana Curcio with Anchorage Opera sang the "Rigoletto" quartet as they surprised students during a lunch-hour opera and dance flash mob Thursday at Clark Middle School. The singers, posing as cafeteria volunteers, broke into song as a means to pique interest in music. "This was fun!" Gantz said after performances at Clark and Fairview Elementary School. Coordinating on the flash mob-style event were Anchorage Opera, which will present "Rigoletto" at the end of October, the Anchorage School District Music and Fine Arts department, and ASD Student Nutrition, which debuted manicotti Thursday to emphasize the Italian theme appropriate for opera. East High School dancers also performed after the singers.
