Watch: ‘Tree-mendous’ lumberjacks perform at the Alaska State Fair

PALMER — Fred Scheer's Lumberjack Show brought in more people than it could seat Sunday at the Alaska State Fair.

"We do all the old-time skills of lumberjacks," said "Timber" Tina Scheer. "We call it 'The Olympics of the Forest.' "

Among the skills displayed by the Wisconsin-based show were underhand chopping, crosscut sawing, ax throwing, log rolling, obstacle pull relay and the speed climb.

"The people of Alaska are the best people that we get to chop and saw for throughout the whole year," said Scheer.
