Attla motors to 10th Yukon 800 win

According to the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, Harold Attla has increased his already considerable legend in the Doyon Yukon 800 Marathon, the longest riverboat race in the world. On Sunday, Attla won his tenth race, becoming by far its winningest captain. Attla praised his crew members, son Austin Attla and Francis Kozevnikoff-Demientieff and noted that a large amount of debris in the rivers this year made their jobs hard. One collision in particular nearly ended their race, he said. Five teams in the field ended up scratching because of debris collisions or mechanical failures, giving Attla's team the win. Team Attla finished in 12 hours, 22 minutes, 26 seconds, more than an hour ahead of five-time winner Bill Page's second-place team. Read much more, here.
