Troopers: Man missing from Pilot Point for more than 2 weeks

Alaska State Troopers say a 25-year-old has been missing from Pilot Point for more than two weeks.

On Thursday, Dillingham-based troopers got a call from 64-year-old Gust Griechen III, who reported his son, Gust Griechen IV, went missing from the tiny town on the northern coast of the Alaska Peninsula.

The father told troopers his son was possibly in Dillingham, according to an online dispatch.

"Investigation reveals thus far that Griechen IV never departed Pilot Point," the dispatch says.

The missing man was last seen on the afternoon of April 27 wearing a blue coat and large blue headphones; he was walking toward Dago Creek, troopers said.

Search efforts are underway, troopers said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of Griechen IV to call troopers' Dillingham post at 907-842-5641.
