Two people died Saturday in a crash on the icy Parks Highway near Houston, according to an online alert from state troopers.
Troopers were called to an area near Mile 61 around 2:30 p.m. A mid-2000s two-door coupe was northbound when the car’s driver lost control on icy pavement and slid into the oncoming lane of traffic, troopers said. A pickup truck in the southbound lane was unable to stop or avoid crashing into the car, troopers wrote.
A man and a woman in the car both died at the scene. They will be identified by the medical examiner’s office, troopers said.
