Woman dies after collision on Tudor Road

A woman died Thursday after a collision on Tudor Road east of the Seward Highway.

Police said they responded to a report of the crash just before 11:20 a.m. near Tudor and Shelikof Street.

"Initial indications are that a small Honda traveling westbound on Tudor crossed over the center line into the path of an Audi traveling eastbound on Tudor," police said in a statement. "The Audi tried to avoid the collision but struck the Honda."

The driver of the Audi was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda, who wasn't immediately identified by police but was described as an adult female, was also injured, and police began lifesaving measures at the scene.

"Medics transported the driver to the hospital, where she was declared deceased a short time later," the statement said.

There were no passengers in either vehicle, the statement said.
