18-year-old driver dies when car hits light post on International Airport Road

An 18-year-old died Saturday morning when the car he was driving struck a light pole on International Airport Road, police say.

Police released Brandon Davis’ name Monday morning in an online update. He was from Anchorage, a police spokesman said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision after the gray 2008 Chevrolet Impala he was driving struck a light pole on International Airport Road at Minnesota Drive, police said.

There was nobody else in the car with Davis when the collision occurred and no other vehicles were involved.
