Anchorage jury acquits two of murder in 2008 shooting

An Anchorage jury has acquitted two men of murder in the shooting of a woman in 2008.

KTUU-TV reported Craig Berumen was found not guilty of all charges in the death of Jennifer Jacobson.

Christopher Binkley was found guilty of one lesser charge of weapons misconduct.

The men both broke down in tears Tuesday as the verdicts were read clearing them of charges that included murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery.

Prosecutors contended that Berumen and Binkley planned to rob Jennifer Jacobson, whom they called to buy $40 of marijuana in February of 2008. Jacobson was later found shot to death outside Berumen's apartment in East Anchorage. A third man confessed to the shooting.
