Police arrest juveniles in Mountain View after pellet gun shooting

Police arrested three juveniles Sunday afternoon in Mountain View after one allegedly shot someone in the leg with a pellet gun.

At 2:45 p.m. on Sunday Anchorage police were called to the 4200 block of Mountain View Drive after someone reported a shooting, the Anchorage Police Department said in a statement Sunday.

Arriving medics "determined that the wound to the victim was from a pellet gun," police wrote.

Witnesses at the scene pointed officers in the direction the suspects were believed to have run after the shooting. Police took three juveniles into custody, the statement said.

One of the three suspects was charged with five counts of third degree assault, one count of failure to stop for a police officer and one count of evidence tampering. The others were charged with a single count of failure to stop for a police officer.

Police found a "pellet gun that resembled a black handgun in the area where one of the subjects was apprehended."

The victim was treated at the scene for a minor leg injury.

Police did not release the names of the victim or suspects on Sunday.
