Anchorage man threatened wife, fired shots through apartment wall, police say

An Anchorage man was arrested after police say he got into a fight with his wife, pointed a gun at her and then fired multiple shots through a bedroom wall and into a neighboring apartment.

Around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, Anchorage police went to the 5600 block of Alora Loop in East Anchorage, near Russian Jack Springs Park, responding to calls about a domestic dispute.

Police found George Lockwood, 45, had gotten into a dispute with his wife. He was intoxicated at more than twice the legal driving limit of 0.08 blood alcohol content, police said.

He had pointed a gun at her head and threatened her life, police said. He then fired the gun multiple times at a bedroom wall, police said.

Two of the bullets traveled through the wall into another apartment, whose occupants were home at the time, police said. Nobody was hurt.

Two minors were inside Lockwood's home, police said.

Lockwood was charged with three counts of third-degree assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, two counts of fourth-degree misconduct involving a weapon, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, police said.
