2 people injured in shooting outside Fairview home

A shooting outside a Fairview home Saturday sent two people to the hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening, the Anchorage Police Department said in an online alert.

Around noon Saturday, officers found the two victims after receiving reports of gunshots in the 900 block of Medfra Street, according to police. A woman had a gunshot wound to her lower body and a man had a gunshot wound to the upper body, police said.

They were outside a residence when someone shot at them, according to preliminary information shared by police. The suspect or suspects left before police arrived, and no one has been arrested in connection with the incident, according to police.

Police said an investigation is ongoing, and they are not releasing any more information at this time.

Police asked anyone with information about the incident, including surveillance footage of the area, to contact dispatch at 311, option 1.
