An APD spokeswoman said she had no additional information to release Friday afternoon.

Police said they responded to reports of a disturbance in the 1000 block of Ingra Street just before 1 p.m. Friday.

The woman was found inside a residence and taken to a hospital, where she died from her injuries, police said. Her dog was taken to a pet emergency clinic and died there.

Officers and the department’s crime scene team expect to remain in the area for an extended period of time, police said. The northbound lane of Ingra remained closed as of midafternoon.
