Man wanted on child sexual assault charges in Texas is arrested in Anchorage, officials say

A 46-year-old Texas resident wanted on child sexual assault charges in his home state was arrested in Anchorage on Thursday morning, the Alaska Bureau of Investigation said.

Recent posts on social media indicated that Casey Bratcher was in Alaska, and U.S. Marshals in Lubbock, Texas, acquired information Tuesday that put his location as Anchorage, the bureau said.

With help from area residents, a multi-agency task force around 10:15 a.m. Thursday found and arrested Casey Bratcher, who was wanted on two counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child with a proposed $375,000 bond, according to the bureau. The task force includes U.S. Marshals, Alaska State Troopers and the Anchorage Police Department.

Bratcher is being held at the Anchorage Correctional Complex and will soon be extradited to Texas, the bureau said.
