Police identify East Anchorage shooting victim as 32-year-old man

Police identified the man who was shot and killed earlier this week in East Anchorage as Enoc H. V. Martinez, 32.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Krane Drive near Turpin Street at 6:56 a.m. Monday for a report of a shooting, police wrote in an online alert. Martinez was found dead outside.

Next of kin have been notified of his death, police said.

“The suspect remained on scene and was cooperative with police; he will be transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning,” police said Monday.

On Wednesday, an APD spokesperson said there was no indication that Martinez and the shooter knew each other. Police “do not have the probable cause necessary to support criminal charges at this time,” the spokesperson said.

Police have not released any other details about the shooting.
