Two women were hospitalized after being hit by a car near Bean's Cafe late Friday night, Anchorage police said.
The crash occurred about 10:45 p.m. near the 1100 block of East Third Avenue. The women, aged 37 and 52, were crossing the street but not using a crosswalk when they were hit by a white Volkswagen Jetta, said Renee Oistad, Anchorage police spokeswoman.
Both were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The 37-year-old was listed in critical condition and the 52-year-old was listed in stable condition, Oistad said.
No charges had been filed as of Saturday morning. The driver stopped after the crash and contacted police, and did not show obvious signs of impairment, Oistad said.
