Man arrested in Anchorage for attempted sexual abuse of preteen girl

Anchorage police reported Wednesday that 30-year-old David Allen Williams Hadley has been charged with two felonies alleging he tried to solicit sex from a 12-year-old girl.

Hadley was charged with first-degree attempted sexual abuse of a minor and online enticement, police said.

The girl's parents went to the Anchorage Police Department on Tuesday morning after discovering "disturbing pornographic images and texts" on their daughter's cellphone. The images and texts were "obvious attempts" to sexually exploit the young girl, police said.

The police department's Cyber Crimes Unit investigated and found Hadley intended to meet the girl for sex, police said. Hadley and the girl agreed to meet up in Fairview, but officers arrested Hadley when he arrived, they said.

"Hadley was questioned and made admissions about his actions and intentions," Anchorage Police Department spokesperson Renee Oistad wrote in a release Wednesday.

Oistad wrote detectives are concerned Hadley may have additional victims in the community, and she urged anyone with information to call the Cyber Crimes Unit at 907-786-8500.

The investigation into Hadley is ongoing, she wrote. Hadley lacks a criminal record in Alaska, according to online court records.
