Troopers: Soldotna woman hails cab to flee another cab ride she didn't pay for

Alaska State Troopers say a Soldotna woman's night of drinking Sunday ended with her behind bars after she bailed on a Soldotna-area cab ride without paying -- twice.

Troopers said in a Monday dispatch they were first called about an "intoxicated female" -- whom they later identified as 32-year-old Gina R. Konig -- at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, after a report that "she fled from AK Cab without paying for the cab ride."

"Konig got into a separate AK Cab and fled on foot from that cab also without paying," troopers wrote. "AST responded to Gaswell Road and Jones Stub Road, where Konig was located and was found to be extremely intoxicated and combative."

Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters didn't immediately have further details on the incident Monday morning because the investigating trooper was off-duty. Employees at AK Cab weren't familiar with the incident Monday.

Troopers arrested Konig on one count each of disorderly conduct and fourth-degree theft of services. She was held at the Wildwood Pretrial Facility on $1,000 bail.
