Snoop Dogg, 40, was briefly detained at an airport in Norway after being accused of entering the country with marijuana and a large amount of cash.
Associated Press reports that customs officials at Kjevic Airport in Kristiansand would only confirm that "an American artist" had been questioned after sniffer dogs detected marijuana. Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was scheduled to perform at the nearby Hove musical festival later that day.
Snoop Dogg was carrying 0.2 ounces of marijuana when he was detained, says Rolling Stone. Possession of up to half an ounce is punishable only by a fine in Norway.
"The bigger problem, or at least the more expensive one, came from the amount of allegedly undeclared cash Snoop was hauling with him," quips the LA Times.
He was fined 52,000 Norwegian kroner ($8,570) for the violations, says Nine News, but NME clarifies that only 12,000 kroner ($1,970) related to the marijuana he was reportedly carrying.
Shortly after the bust, the New York Daily Times said Snoop Dogg had posted a photo on Twitter that appeared to show him passing a joint with the caption: "Smoking crip n. cuzns. Hahahahagahhaha."
It's the second time Snoop Dogg has been accused of drug possession this year. In January, authorities in Texas said they found several joints on his tour bus.
