Letter: Congress must impeach Trump

It is imperative that Congress take action in the face of President Donald Trump’s authoritarian efforts to impede congressional oversight by immediately passing articles of impeachment and beginning televised hearings on the charges.

We are in the midst of a constitutional crisis brought on by a man who, because of his criminal, treasonous and deceitful words and actions, must be removed from office if our democracy is to survive. The House must act now, as Trump is just going to keep stonewalling. Time is of the essence, because the harm that he is doing to our nation’s security cannot be allowed to keep ballooning. It will take years to repair the damage already done, and more still the longer Congress equivocates.
