Letter: The other side of the coin

Some say it is reasonable for society to dictate to a woman that, at any codified point in her pregnancy, i.e., a heartbeat, she will then produce a baby, whether she agrees to or not. If so, is it not equally reasonable that the same society should be prepared to incur the financial responsibility of paying for the birth and raising of that child until it reaches the legal age of adulthood?
