Letter: Cuts will lobotomize Alaska

I am a lifelong Alaskan. I am devastated by our governor’s actions and lack of foresight. These “cuts” will be much more expensive for our state and our people. There is a book called “Two Old Women” by Velma Wallis that this man needs to read. Our people are our most valuable resource; this cut will lobotomize our state as a whole. Cutting our state’s higher education is like saying that a person’s brain takes up too much energy and we need to cut it almost in half in order to save the person. And all of this from people who have benefited from higher education.
