Letter: Changing places

A few years ago, my husband and I had to sadly change state residency. We are living in Nevada for 8 months of the year. We felt, and Nevada felt, we owed them our money and allegiance.

Now that Mike Dunleavy is governor, I don’t feel as sad. I see the division and destruction his administration is trying to foist on the state and I can stand back and look but not bleed as badly as being a resident. I still get angry but not heartbroken.

We still have property taxes on some land, but the ties to the state have been loosened. Sorry, Alaska. Many got sold on the promise of the golden fleece, but all you got was fleeced.
