Letter: Budget simplification

I was texting a friend who moved Outside about how dysfunctional our Legislature has become. In an effort to try to explain it in a concise manner, I summed it up in one short sentence: “Our governor is taking money from kids and old people so he can pay everybody a $3,000 dividend.”

Although my text was an oversimplification, her answer back was not. She texted just one simple word: “Sad.”
