Letter: Emulate Canadian ferry system

After reading a letter to the editor about the Alaska ferry system for the umpteenth time, I would like to know how the ferry system in Canada is set up. I have taken rides several times and found that the system is part of the road system and they don’t charge you for the ride. So how can Alaska get even close to this kind of operation?

I have paid for rides on the Alaska ferries and would do so again if it would even approach the Canadian version of efficiency. Here’s hoping for more dialogue and fewer complaints.
