Letter: It’s not great

I just don’t think we, as Americans, are making America great again.

We have alienated countries around the world. The tariffs are hurting our farmers and manufacturers. It is also hurting me when I would like to buy olive oil, European cheese and meats such as prosciutto.

We refuse to help people around the world — Syrians, and especially our neighbors to the south. We don’t even want to help our own citizens, those who are less fortunate than us.

Our administration is a merry-go-round of names and faces getting hired, fired or just plan quitting, that I can’t even keep up. I can’t remember a previous Democratic or Republican president who had such a revolving door of an administration.

Racial divides seem to be growing, and shootings are on the rise.

Now we have an impeachment hearing — which I find fascinating — regarding our president.

My wife has owned a successful and profitable business here in town since 2012. Her licenses, fees, insurance and other costs of doing business have not gone down, and thankfully not gone up. Her revenue has not gone up or come down since 2016.
