Letters to the Editor

Letter: Veterans’ service

As a veteran, I appreciated Sen. Lisa Murkowski’s recent reminder that many of our active duty troops are still spread around the world, year after year, 24/7. At any given moment, many of them are at grave risk. The rest of them are prepared and ready to disrupt their personal lives and go where ordered, when ordered, to do whatever is ordered. That’s an enormous thing to dedicate one’s self to, and we all need to remember, every single day, what we owe to all those men and women.

Sen. Murkowski closed by encouraging Alaskans to “... think about ways we can show our support for those who serve our country, their families and loved ones, and to let them know through our actions that they are appreciated...”

I agree 100%, and I’d like to suggest to everyone that the very best way to do that is to share with them their mission of fiercely protecting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies.

Foreign and domestic.
