Letters to the Editor

Letter: Pick it up

We are lucky to live in a beautiful city full of winter trails to fat tire bike, ski, run and walk with friends. In the next two weeks, these areas will melt, spreading slushy, smelly dog excrement.

When exercising or socializing, many seem to be unaware their dog is ahead or behind pooping directly on the trail, unwilling to stop their activity to do a cleanup, or claim their dog is pooping off trail.

To correct for all these instances, please be responsible and protective of our waterways and start a clean-up today! We all can take part by coming prepared with trowel and lots of plastic bags. Consider "Strive for Five" (poop scoops or trash items) per trip. Your fellow trail users and local wildlife thank you.
