Letter: Wartime President?

Could you imagine, after the Pearl Harbor attack, if President Franklin Roosevelt said to Hawaii, “Gee, too bad you didn’t have more ammunition stockpiled. We’re only a back-up here in the federal government. Sorry you’re having all these troubles.” That would have been unbelievable.

But, in fact, that’s what New York and other states are hearing from the federal government right now. We don’t have a wartime President. We have a nightmare.
