Letter: First Amendment rights?

I noticed an ABC News article today titled, “School hearing dismissed after angry parents pack room without masks.”

The article discussed a July 15 meeting in Provo, Utah, and concerned the state mandate for students to wear masks. It appears most of those attending did not wear masks, did not observe the seating spacing provided, and were there to express their dissatisfaction with the mandate. There were, however, a few there to support the mandate, including at least one teacher.

The teacher was quoted in the article as saying something I find provides a great analogy: "Since when do we have a constitutional right to put other lives in danger? We can't smoke in public places, because it puts other people's lives in danger."
