Letters to the Editor

Letter: A good candidate

I’d like to thank everyone who supported me to run for Senate Seat M, representing South Anchorage. I was motivated to seek this seat because our current representative, Josh Revak, who was appointed to his seat by Gov. Mike Dunleavy, does not represent the centrist and moderate core of our district. His extremist views, reckless budget votes and anti-Anchorage and public health sentiments make him a bad fit for Senate Seat M. I was looking forward to running an aggressive, principled campaign aligned with the heart of our district.

But things don’t always happen the way we plan. Due to some unanticipated and pressing family issues that have arisen since filing for office, I regretfully must withdraw from the general election race. I deeply regret having to make this decision, but family must take priority during difficult times.

I would like to encourage all those who supported my campaign, and all those who voted for the late Chris Birch, to give independent candidate Andy Holleman your full support in this contest. As a School Board member, he cares about our kids and good education, supports working families and fits our district. He deserves your vote.
