Letters to the Editor

Letter: Where are COVID-19 countermeasures?

Early on in the coronavirus pandemic, we citizens were congratulated by the Anchorage mayor and Alaska governor for our actions in helping control the coronavirus spread. What is their position these days as new daily cases soar to record levels across the state?

If the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services is performing aggressive contact tracing, as we were told they were doing from the get-go, why can’t we find out where these news cases are originating, so we can continue to perform safe avoidance behaviors in accordance with our civic duties? At least give us a hint where the hot spots are so we can avoid them. Thanks in advance.
