Letter: ADN memories

I have just received my notification that the 2021 moose calendar was available. I will again be ordering it, but of more interest to me was the coffee mug honoring the founding of the ADN in 1946. I was one of the paper boys, as we were known in those days.

At that time, the paper was in a converted home on Third Avenue, across from the Westward Inn. Mr. Norm Brown, as we knew him, had us come in Saturday mornings at 7 a.m. so we would hit the streets by 8 a.m. Many Saturdays, the papers weren’t ready due to the press breaking down and we would wait several hours to get our papers. Ah, life was simpler then. That mug brought back many memories, and I will be ordering mine.
