Letter: Vote Trump out

Had enough? Vote him out.

This President has failed to follow his medical experts' advice to isolate COVID-19 spread that will have killed a quarter of a million Americans by November and devastated our economy. Thus, Americans account for 20% of the world COVID-19 death toll, though we number just 4% of its population.

Following her experts' advice, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand acted “early and hard,” trading off weeks of lockdown and sacrifice in March to fully open her nation’s economy by June. Now no one there needs to wear a mask or social distance, crowds flock to sporting events and most schools are open. Consistent messaging and vigilance is key.

Instead, President Donald Trump misinformed and even undermined his epidemiologists' messaging. He conveyed no plan as the virus spread unchecked everywhere. Even now, he spreads dangerous disinformation that face masks are harmful.

Rather than unite and heal, he divides Americans by red state/blue state, race, religion, gender, age, national origin and political party affiliation.

He is President of the United States of America and all Americans, not just the states/ones who vote for him.

Joe Biden will not hold it against Alaska if Alaskans vote for his opponent, and he will act to save lives in all states and the economy nationally.
