Letter: Holleman for Senate

Gov. Mike Dunleavy appointed Josh Revak to the State Senate in late 2019 following the untimely death of Sen. Chris Birch. Mr. Revak is now seeking election to that seat. As a far-right ideologue, Mr. Revak is a poor fit for Senate District M. Revak supported Dunleavy’s originally proposed and wildly unpopular draconian budget cuts (he was actually a featured supporter in the governor’s Facebook ad campaign). Revak has publicly downplayed the seriousness of the pandemic and gone on social media touting his patronage of Kriner’s Diner while it was operating in violation of municipal law.

I recently received a mailer from Mr. Revak stating that he needs my vote to defeat the “radical left” and “Antifa.” Revak seems intent on fighting imagined enemies rather than addressing the real needs of Senate District M and the state. Fortunately for the residents of Senate District M, we can vote for reasonable, pragmatic and non-partisan leadership in Independent Andy Holleman. Andy Holleman has a long track record of providing such leadership on the Anchorage School Board and local community councils. Andy Holleman has demonstrated the leadership we need to realistically deal with the serious problems facing the state.
