Letter: More COVID-19 aid

I have a wonderful idea about this whole problem with unemployment benefits and all the problems with the $300 unemployment boost. Since we, the citizens of the United States, must suffer while negotiations drag on and on, why shouldn’t all government officials at local, state, and federal levels suffer the same fate? No regular pay checks, no 30-day paid break in the middle of negotiations, no perks of any kind, or any health insurance.

This would apply to all levels of government: to include mayors, congressmen, House of Representatives, Senators, etc. Why should they get anything more than we, the people they are suppose to represent, get? Then let’s see how long it takes them to come to an agreement.
