Letter: Assembly chooses tyranny

The Anchorage Assembly has decided to ignore the city charter mandating a special election for mayor, and are keeping an acting mayor who was not elected to that position with emergency powers in office until July 1. This means she can unilaterally decide to close schools, businesses, ski resorts, bars, restaurants, gyms and churches, and mandate limits on holiday gatherings.

The Assembly members who supported this liberal dictatorship for the next eight months and chose tyranny over freedom are: Christopher Constant, Kameron Perez-Verdia, Felix Rivera, Meg Zaletel, Pete Petersen, Forest Dunbar and Suzanne LeFrance. None of these people should ever hold elective office again.
