Letters to the Editor

Letter: Accept the results

We’ve seen how low the right-wing noise machine will stoop in the supposed election fraud nonsense. Dangerously low. These warped people will spread their lies even if it means shredding the Constitution.

There is no evidence of electoral fraud. As of yesterday, with a piddling exception or two, Donald Trump has lost every lawsuit he’s filed over voter fraud and hasn’t changed a single vote. His own administration stated that the election was squeaky clean. Even Karl Rove said there is no way the Democrats could rig the election on that scale.

But these people gave up worrying about little inconveniences like facts a long time ago. They know full well they are peddling snake oil, but for reasons that I cannot wrap my head around, they do it anyway. They don’t respect their listeners, they manipulate them. And they have the audacity to call themselves patriots.

The threat they pose is magnified because most Republican politicians are too spineless to stand up and speak the truth. They know it’s a big lie, they understand the threat to our democracy — and they cower.

They may drag America down with them.
