Letter: Standing up for democracy

I was so discouraged by letters criticizing Sen. Lisa Murkowski for her opinion on the impeachment of Donald Trump. Mr. Trump stated before the election that the election was rigged if he lost. He continued claiming after the election that the election was a fraud, even though more than 60 court challenges found no election fraud.

Then Mr. Trump invited his followers to Washington, D.C., to “Stop the Steal” on Jan. 6. When they arrived, Mr. Trump and Sens. Ted Cruz and Joshua Hawley all invited the mob to march on the Capitol, be strong, and deal with Vice President Mike Pence if he didn’t change the election results.

So an angry pro-Trump mob attempted to attack our representatives. Thank you, Sen. Murkowski, for standing up for democracy.
