Letters to the Editor

Letter: Vehicle titles

A piece of advice: When you sell a car, remove the license plates and keep them until the buyer shows proof that they have registered the car in their name. Ideally, have the sale noted at one of those contract Division of Motor Vehicles stores. If not, you may be held liable should the car be involved in an accident or simply abandoned, and then you will be billed for the impound charges. And if bad things happen, the state offers no help to you to assign responsibility.
