Letter: Bronson will end health mandates

The Anchorage Assembly and Forrest Dunbar voted yet again to extend emergency powers to our acting mayor, who was not elected to her current office — this time until June. We are now well over a year into this “emergency.” Our acting mayor can now, on a whim, close any business or activity she wishes for no reason.

She can do what Forrest Dunbar and the Assembly did in March of last year — deem that tens of thousands of people are “non-essential” and put them out of work. Their misguided leadership permanently closed many businesses in Anchorage, closed schools for nearly a year, closed churches, ski resorts and dentists, stopped “discretionary” medical procedures, closed restaurants and bars, and decimated small businesses. Dave Bronson will stop this madness.
