Letter: Don’t vote for Bronson

Come on, Anchorage citizens. Are we really a city that wants to go backward in time and elect a person who, with his openly bigoted views against the LGBTQ+ community and his inhuman attitude and solution to our homeless population, has told you what and who he is?

Let’s just lock up the homeless, he says. Do you think he has really thought out his ridiculous solution to our homeless population? Does he know what impact in resources and the burden his tough-guy proposal would have on our judicial system? Not to mention the additional emotional and mental stresses enacting his proposal would add to the issues these people already suffer from.

I hope Anchorage voters are smarter than wanting to elect an extreme right-wing Donald Trump wannabe. Haven’t Alaska and Anchorage learned their lessons when extremist Republicans are given power to drag us further in the gutter?

Mr. Bronson has no plan. He has some real controversial ideas, but no real plan. He doesn’t believe the science involved in the COVID-19 pandemic battle, and wants to end the mask mandate and open up all businesses, which will reverse all the progress made to date. You can’t fix it if one is ill-informed and a denier of fact.

At least Forrest Dunbar has a 10-point plan with good ideas — with room for improvement — to bring Anchorage into the 21st century. It’s a plan that includes all Anchorage citizens without prejudice to our extremely diverse community.

Please don’t put a xenophobe in the mayor’s seat. Elect Dunbar — look past the trees and see the Forrest! And while you’re at it, let’s clean up more of our mess by recalling Gov. Mike Dunleavy; sign the petition.
