Letter: Please shut down the government

After the unprecedented challenges of 2020 forced my roommate and me into sharing space far more often than we would have preferred, I think that the latest budget from the Legislature, whatever it says, is total nonsense and should be rejected accordingly.

My roommate is employed by the government and works from home — if he is unemployed, then he can go fishing during the week and I can finally have the living room to myself in the afternoons. I believe that there is a fine line to walk here and do eventually hope for a compromise that works for all Alaskans; after all, I also want my roommate to help cover next month’s rent.
