Letter: Runaway debt

Our current federal administration is planning on spending trillions of dollars on infrastructure. Currently our national debt at this moment is $28.6 trillion and climbing by the second. Our debt-to-GDP, or gross domestic product, is 128.38%. Our debt obligation per taxpayer is $227,474.

Our enemies, like Iran, China and others, couldn’t do a better job of destroying the U.S. than we’re doing to ourselves. Prior to World War II, Germans were burning their currency to stay warm because it was worthless. I suspect we’re headed in the same direction.

If the Biden administration succeeds in borrowing trillions of dollars to fuel our infrastructure improvements, I fear we’re doomed, and may be at any rate given how the debt is accelerating. Most people are concerned about our enemies attacking us. Our enemies appear not to be foreign. They are our own politicians, it seems. Google the U.S. national debt and get prepared.
