Letter: Tough shoes to fill

This note concerns a commentary piece from Sept. 1 concerning Dr. Bruce Chandler, former chief medical officer of the Anchorage Health Department. I must agree wholeheartedly about all the positive things that were said about him by his co-workers. He has been tireless in his work for the public health of our city of Anchorage. His involvement with local tuberculosis problems has been unselfish over two decades. He has also been involved in multiple other infectious diseases issues over that same time period. Along with that position he has also served the community at the Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center as a excellent pediatrician.

Talk about an unsung hero! Talk about hard shoes to fill! I wish him well in his future endeavors.

— Jerry Nasenbeny, M.D.
