Letter: Give credit where credit is due

Alaska has the highest case rate in the country. I believe we should credit those who are responsible for this most unhonorable achievement. From the day he was sworn in, Mayor Dave Bronson has sworn off masks and vaccines. He has stubbornly shrugged and said he doesn’t know what more we can do. He points to his email inbox and constituent conversations, allowing empirical evidence to justify his inaction.

Allow me to provide some empirical evidence of my own: Dave Bronson is not a leader. A leader would assure a city that more can be done. A leader would look to logic for guidance. A leader would not play politics with health and safety. Mayor Bronson deserves credit for where we are.

Don’t be like Mayor Bronson; be a leader. Lead by example by wearing a mask when and where it is necessary. Lead with logic by getting vaccinated. Lead compassionately by caring for those that live and work in this wonderful city.
