Please keep your dog on leash, fenced or otherwise under your control. I have been out walking in a Hillside neighborhood, only to be accosted by off-leash dogs with no owner in sight. This is very disconcerting.
I carry bear spray for protection, but so far have avoided its use. I am a dog lover, and spraying a caustic substance in a dog’s face is not something I want to do. However, if I think I’m going to be bitten, I certainly will. Let’s all be responsible pet owners and avoid injured pets, vet bills or the inevitable lawsuit if your pet injures someone.
