Letter: Yukon TV problems

I am using Yukon TV. It is the worst app I have ever come across. It is clunky, hard to use and fails to work properly on many occasions.

It is so bad I wrote a letter of complaint to Mr. Greg B. Maffie, president and CEO of Liberty Broadband, the conglomerate that acquired GCI a year or so ago. The letter was sent on Nov. 3; so far, no reply.

The app is very difficult to navigate. Recordings are a nightmare; it takes 6-10 clicks to get a recording to play. On numerous occasions I have received a message that says, “Recording error unable to play.” Sometimes it will play at a later date; most of the time it never plays. When it does play, it will suddenly freeze and stay frozen until you put it on pause and then hit play.

When you look at future programs, you see the option “watch now,” which of course doesn’t work. On a number of occasions, I have had to unplug my Apple box and then replug it in to get Yukon to work, All the other apps worked; it was just Yukon that failed.

Here in Alaska, we have very little choice of TV and internet providers, so at the moment I am stuck with Yukon. I hope enough people will protest loud and long to get this app upgraded to a user friendly, workable version.
